El Rio (The River)

Notes

Border Field Park is part of the Tijuana River Valley. There really is a river, and when the San Diego/Tijuana area gets a big rain it will often flood.

In addition to the many birds that show up in the Tijuana River Valley, there are brush rabbits, jack rabbits, lizards, squirrels, grey foxes, coyotes, and the occasional bobcat.

A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave in contrast to a heptatonic scale, which is seven notes. Rolly’s been playing the guitar for awhile, so he probably doesn’t need to mess around reviewing the standard major, minor, and blues pentatonic scales. It’s probably some modal variation he’s practicing in his head.
